In a career that spans more than 3 decades, Mr. Gallo has designed the lighting for over 50 Broadway productions.  He made his Broadway debut at the age of 27 with Passione, starring Jerry Stiller.  Subsequently, he has had the privilege of working with the amazing talents of Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, Renée Zellweger, Liam Neeson, Paul Rudd, Cynthia Nixon, Laura Linney, Ben Stiller, Victor Garber, Christopher Walken, Stockard Channing, Patti Lupone, Kevin Kline, Chris Noth, Kristin Chenoweth, Laurie Metcalf, John Lithgow, David Hyde Pierce, Kathy Bates, Patrick Stewart, Leslie Uggams, Joanne Woodward, Christopher Plummer, Sandy Dennis, E.G. Marshall, Jessica Tandy, Rex Harrison and Elizabeth Taylor.  

He designed the original Broadway productions of Three Tall Women, Wonderland, The Civil War, Triumph Of Love, Titanic, Smokey Joe’s Café, Crazy For You, City of Angels, Smile, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, November, A Bronx Tale, Mauritius, Three Days of Rain, Six Degrees of Separation, Lend Me A Tenor, The House of Blue Leaves, Beyond Therapy, Come Back To The Five And Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean and Grown Ups, as well as celebrated revivals of Anything Goes, A Funny Thing…The  Forum, Guys & Dolls, The Sound Of Music and 42nd Street.  He designed the theatrical lighting for two episodes in the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Mr. Gallo is the recipient of eight Tony nominations, ten Drama Desk nominations (winning one), six Outer Critics Awards, two Obie Awards and the 1986 Obie for Sustained Excellence of Lighting Design.  He is a graduate of Ithaca College and the Yale School Of Drama.  He served for three years as a member of the TONY Nominating Committee.  His proudest achievements are his 36 year marriage to his beautiful wife, Jody, and his two wonderful children, Francesca and Nicholas.
